The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the opening of a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Greene County to assist those affected by severe storms and tornadoes on May 16, 2025. This center aims to support small businesses, private nonprofits, and residents in their recovery efforts.
Starting Monday, June 23, SBA customer service representatives will be available at the DLOC to answer questions about the disaster loan program, guide individuals through the application process, and assist with completing applications. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can also be scheduled online at appointment.sba.gov.
The DLOC is located at Greene County Event Centers – Business Office – East End, 4503 W State Rd 54, Bloomfield, IN 47424. It will operate from Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., and will remain closed on Sundays. The center will permanently close on June 28 at 6 p.m.
Chris Stallings, associate administrator of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the SBA stated: “When disasters strike, SBA’s Disaster Loan Outreach Centers play a vital role in helping small businesses and their communities recover.” He emphasized that specialists at these centers provide assistance with disaster loan applications and information on recovery programs.
Survivors are encouraged not to wait for insurance settlements before applying for a disaster loan. The SBA offers low-interest loans for total loss up to its limits if borrowers agree to use insurance proceeds for loan repayment.
Applications can be submitted online via sba.gov/disaster or inquiries made through SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Telecommunications relay services are available by dialing 7-1-1 for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The deadline for physical property damage applications is July 29, 2025, while economic injury applications must be submitted by March 2, 2026.
