Apple has announced a range of updates and features to its services, set to launch this fall with the release of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, and watchOS 26. These updates include enhancements across Apple Music, Apple Maps, Apple Wallet, and other services.
Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services stated: “Apple’s services are integral to many parts of a user’s day, and we’re excited to bring features that pack even more power and fun into their everyday moments.”
The updates aim to improve navigation in Apple Maps with new features like preferred routes and Visited Places. Jeff Robbin, Apple's vice president of Services Engineering said: “AI and machine learning are a core part of what makes Apple’s services feel so personal and intuitive to our users around the world.”
In music services, Apple Music introduces AutoMix for seamless song transitions and features such as Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation. The service also allows users to pin favorite music for easy access.
For podcasts enthusiasts, Apple Podcasts will offer enhanced customization options including various playback speeds and the Enhance Dialogue feature for clearer speech over background sounds.
Apple Wallet is being upgraded with improved order tracking through email integration. Users can also use rewards or installment plans for in-store purchases using Apple Pay in collaboration with financial partners like Affirm and Klarna.
The introduction of Digital ID provides a new way for users to store ID information securely on their devices. This will initially be available at select TSA checkpoints for domestic travel within the U.S.
Custom Plans in Apple Fitness+ aim to personalize workout schedules based on user preferences. Meanwhile, Apple News adds Emoji Game to its puzzle offerings.
These updates reflect Apple's commitment to making everyday activities more personal and enjoyable through thoughtful technological advancements.
Availability details indicate that these features require supported devices including all iPhone 16 models among others. Language support will expand by year-end.
