Thousands of participants gathered in Chicago's Grant Park on a chilly Sunday morning for the 44th annual Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, marking the beginning of spring in the city. The event saw more than 26,500 runners cross the finish line, making it a sold-out race. The men’s race was won by Gable Sieperda who completed it in 22:52, while Amy Davis-Green defended her title in the women’s race with a time of 25:31. Winners in the wheelchair competition were Samantha Schroth and Angelo Perez.

Executive Race Director Carey Pinkowski commented, “It was great to see thousands of participants in Grant Park wearing green and starting the spring season in Chicago. The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle brings the Chicago running community together in a unique and celebratory way and is the perfect way to kick off the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Distance Series.”

Sieperda, representing Fitness Sports Distance Project from Iowa, made his decisive move during the race's final stretch on Roosevelt Road. Close behind were Shuaib Aljabaly of Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project and Curtis Eckstein of the Working Man’s Track Club, both finishing at 22:56.

In the women's category, Davis-Green, representing Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project, improved her previous year’s time by more than 20 seconds. Claire Green finished second at 25:56, while Anne-Marie Blaney, also from Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project, came third with a time of 26:04.

The 15th Deloitte Elite Club Competition accompanied the event, boasting over 70 elite USATF-member club teams vying for a $30,000 prize pool. Gazelle Elite secured victory in the men's division with a combined score of 1:33:49. Minnesota Distance Elite followed in second place, and Fitness Sports Distance Project A claimed third.

In the women’s division, Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project led the scoreboards with a time of 1:48:32. Nameless Track Club and Front Range Elite placed second and third respectively.

The competition also introduced a mixed division, mandating teams comprised of at least two men and two women. Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project again took the title with Brooklyn Track Club and The Track Club Boulder trailing.

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle has become a recognized spring tradition in Chicago, offering participants a scenic 8K run or a 2-mile walk along the lakefront, culminating with live music at the Post-Race Party. More details are available at shamrockshuffle.com.

The next installment, the 45th Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, is scheduled for March 22, 2026.
