Earlier this month, the Hartwell School community came together to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The event was marked by music, food, and reflections on the school's history.
Local historians shared stories about the founding of Hartwell School, its development over the years, and significant events that have influenced the community.
“It’s important to engage the entire community bringing together our friends, staff, students, past students and teachers to unite one another, understand where they come from, and envision where they are going,” stated Hartwell Principal Antwan Lewis.
Participants reminisced about their experiences with Hartwell School while taking part in guided tours that highlighted the school's rich history and evolution over a century.
Today, Hartwell School emphasizes technology education through its advanced STEAM lab. Despite these modern advancements, the school remains committed to its motto “Little School, Big Heart,” continuing a legacy of providing a creative and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported.
