Amazon is seeking candidates to fill an artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) consultant role in Chicago. The company prefers top architects, system and software engineers who can use ML and Generative AI to design, implement, and refine solutions for unresolved problems.

According to a post on Amazon’s job board, the selected candidate will design and conduct experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways to optimize risk, profitability, and customer experience.

The post outlines specific responsibilities that include using tools such as Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock to provide a scalable cloud environment for customers to label data, build, train, tune, and deploy their models. The position also requires collaborating with data scientists to create and fine-tune scalable ML and Generative AI solutions. The individual who fills this role will interact with customers to understand business problems as well as help them in the implementation of their ML ecosystem.

The post lists qualifications including a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a related technical, math, or scientific field (or equivalent experience); experience coding in Python, R, Matlab, Java or other modern programming languages; more than a year of public cloud computing experience in Amazon Web Services or other large-scale cloud providers; and four or more years of experience hosting and deploying ML solutions.

The position is open in other metropolitan areas in the United States. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200 to $204,300 annually depending on the job location.
