Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking candidates for a finance manager role in Chicago and other major cities in the United States. The selected candidate will serve as a key member of the AWS Generative AI (GenAI) team.

According to the position announcement, the role involves providing end-to-end finance support, such as profit and loss (P&L) management and planning, for Generative AI services. It will also contribute to strategic new Generative AI feature launches and process improvements across the organization.

The announcement states that job responsibilities include taking the lead with financial planning and building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance. It also demands owning the GenAI services end to end, influencing business decisions that drive revenue or capital expenditures, supporting strategic new GenAI features launches, and partnering with AWS finance teams to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements.

Qualified candidates should have five or more years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field; a bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business; or a bachelor's degree with five or more years in a quantitative role such as engineering, process re-engineering, or quality assurance. Additionally, they should have experience solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business outcomes like financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits. The position also requires experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, and Cognos, as well as financial systems like Oracle, SAP, Lawson, and JD Edwards.

The base pay ranges from $85,900 to $179,500 per year depending on geographic location.
