Yield Engineering Systems Inc. (YES) recently announced it has leased a 123,000-square-foot facility located inside the Price Corridor in Chandler, Arizona, according to a press release.
The facility will aid YES in supporting the region's growing semiconductor sector.
“Our new technology center will provide us with valuable proximity to key customers and vendors, as well as access to the highly skilled workforce that defines Chandler’s business ecosystem,” Rezwan Lateef, president of YES, said in the release.
YES designs and produces a variety of process equipment utilized in the semiconductor, life sciences and display industries.
“We are grateful to Chandler’s economic development team, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Arizona Commerce Authority for their assistance with this major milestone in our mission to serve the semiconductor market as a preferred provider,” Lateef said.
The Chandler site will include research and development services, cleanroom operations, sophisticated manufacturing, customer support and office space.

The company intends to hire roughly 100 highly educated workers at the Chandler site, primarily in technology and engineering roles.

The multimillion-dollar investment used to build the facility also will aid in the advancement of semiconductor manufacturing technology, according to the release.

In the past six months, two other semiconductor manufacturing companies, EMD Electronics and Edwards, have announced plans to establish new facilities in Chandler, which also will result in the creation of hundreds of new jobs.
