Hundreds of new jobs could soon be coming to Glendale thanks to a newly announced $675 million investment by Nestlé USA which plans to build a coffee creamer production factory in the city.
According to a press release, the facility would produce creamers for Nestlé brands including Coffee Mate, Coffee Mate natural bliss, and Starbucks and would be capable of expanding to expand even more down the road.
"We appreciate the partnership from state and local officials and look forward to contributing to the local economy and Glendale community for many years to come, including through the creation of over 350 jobs," Daniel Jhung, president of Nestlé USA's beverage division, said in a statement.
The 630,000 square foot facility is set to begin production in 2024, but hiring will begin this summer and continue through next year, the release noted.
According to AZCentral, the factory will be built North of the Like Air Force Base.
Creamers and other beverages saw steady growth during the pandemic, which Jhung attributed to the "increasingly important role in the lives of consumers," according to the press release. He also noted that the investment demonstrates Nestlé's commitment to leading and growing their operations while counting to provide high-quality products.
