High inflationary prices at the gas pump continue to rise with the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia, leading some to criticize President Biden's domestic energy policies.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) reports that drivers in Arizona are paying some of the highest gas prices in the nation.
The average price per gallon in the state is currently 7% more than it was a month ago, and at $3.82 per gallon it is higher than the national average of $3.62 per gallon, according to AAA.
“Biden energy policy is financing the Russian war machine!” Amistad Project Director Phillip Kline recently said on Twitter. “Russian exports in natural gas up $30B FY 2021 over FY 2020 while Energy Secretary Granholm holds up US exports of clean US liquefied natural gas in her fidelity to the AOC Squad.”
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that 2019 and 2020 were the first times the country was a net total energy exporter since 1952.
Total U.S. energy exports surpassed total energy imports for the first time in history in 2020, according to the EIA, with U.S. imports falling 13% to 20 quadrillion British thermal units (quads), its lowest level since 1992, while energy exports climbed to 23.47 quads.
Just The News reports the country's energy production has led to it being a larger consumer of oil and gas from other countries, with Russia being the world’s leading oil and gas producer.
When Biden took office, he did away with permits for the Keystone XL crude oil pipeline, according to Energy News Network.
In addition, Biden’s administration has ceased production of further oil and gas leases on government property, according to CNBC.

The Washington Times reports Job Creators Network President Alfredo Ortiz recently said in a conference call, "Between our push here in the U.S. to basically walk away from our energy independence, and Europe's push in the same way, we basically have funded this war in Ukraine."
Russian oil exports to America climbed to the highest level in 10 years, according to a 2021 report by SP Global.
The EIA reports that in 2020, America imported 1% of Russia's crude oil exports, with 90% exported to European and Asian countries.
