North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper recently announced new job openings for the BrassCraft Manufacturing Company in Davidson County.

BrassCraft, a leading provider of rough plumbing products, announced the expansion of productions in Davidson County, paving the way to create nearly 100 new jobs in the area, a recent press release from Cooper said.

"Companies like BrassCraft understand the value of our state's workforce, quality of life and central location that support its global reputation," Cooper said in a recent Facebook post. "This expansion will bring nearly 100 good-paying jobs to the city of Thomasville."

The new positions will be available for assembly personnel, engineers, management and support staff; at varying wages depending on the position, the press release said. In addition to providing new jobs, the expansion will provide a potential payroll impact of more than $4.5 million per year. The overall average annual wage in Davidson County is $42,274.

"The Thomasville team is critical to delivering the quality and craftsmanship that plumbers and contractors have come to expect from BrassCraft products," Tom Assante, president of BrassCraft Manufacturing Company, said in the release. "Expansion of this facility is an investment in our people, our brand and U.S. manufacturing."

The new expansion includes enlarging the Thomasville location in order to increase the company’s local manufacturing footprint to 157,000 square feet of production space, the release said. It was made possible through a performance-based grant of $200,000 from the One North Carolina Fund to help with BrassCraft's expansion in the state.

Founded in 1946, BrassCraft Manufacturing Company is a leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of rough plumbing products for new construction and repair, including water stops, gas connectors, water connectors/supply lines, water heater connectors, drain cleaning products and plumbing hand tools.
