Lyft is offering a lending hand to families who have been affected by the Marshall wildfires in Boulder County, Colorado.
“In response to the Marshall wildfires in Boulder County, Colorado, Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need,” the company site read. “We’re activating our LyftUp Disaster Response program to provide access to free rides to help those in affected areas move to designated shelters.”
The company, based in San Francisco, is offering code COFIRERELIEF22, which will remain valid for 2 rides up to $15 each, effective immediately and through 1/18 before midnight. It will prioritize those in need of accessing safe shelter.
The company warns that car availability may impact the offer, advises customers to check operation hours before attempting to visit shelters, and encourages individuals looking to visit public disaster shelters to practice recommended COVID-19 guidelines provided by the CDC.
“Safety is fundamental to Lyft and we will continue to monitor the conditions and communicate with Lyft drivers, riders and government officials,” the company continued. “As always, we look forward to providing rides to those who need them.”
The efforts form part of Lyft’s Disaster Response program, which also ensures ride accessibilities for clients in need of obtaining a vaccine, job, or groceries.
“Our hearts go out to those impacted by these wildfires,” the company states.
