In conjunction with Indiana state officials, the city of Frankfurt this week announced that Frito-Lay will be investing over $60 million to expand its existing operations in Frankfurt.
The expansion is expected to create up to 50 new jobs. The site in Frankfurt has been expanded twice now, with the other expansion taking place in 2018. Since the first expansion, over 200 new jobs have been created in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt Mayor Judy Sheets had this to say about the announcement: Frito-Lay’s continued financial investment and creation of jobs in Frankfort during these challenging times, reinforces their commitment to strengthening our local economy. I am grateful to the company and everyone who played a role in making this project happen.”
Construction on the expansion is set to begin in 2021 and be completed in 2022. Frito-Lay is a division of PepsiCo and now employs about 1300 full-time associates in the area.
