In a release from the Chandler news center, it was announced that the city plans to launch a program called 'On the Street' which seeks to aid local businesses facing indoor capacity restrictions.

The Brickyard, located in downtown Chandler's Historic Square, will be the first pre-approved business to offer on-street dining to patrons in place of dining inside. “The past few months have been challenging for the entire industry,” said Gavin Jacobs, co-owner of the Brickyard. “’On the Street’ allows my business to safely expand its dining options while meeting our customers at their comfort level. As soon as we heard about this program, we jumped on the opportunity.”

Chandler officials have made it clear that the program isn't solely limited to restaurants, however. Interested businesses can apply to the program to see whether they qualify for its services. The program will be run through May 31, 2021.

For business owners across Chandler, programs such as this have been a welcome surprise during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused untold economic misery for businesses across the United States.
