Arizona is among 20 states to join a new network with a focus on equipping people with the skills needed to return to the workforce and help communities recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gov. Doug Ducey said the Reskilling and Recovery Network is a new approach the state is taking with uncertainty weighing heavily on the minds of workers.
“The Reskilling and Recovery Network will help Arizonans strengthen their professional skills and learn new ones, and it will connect employers with talent across the state,” the governor said in a press release issued by his office on Aug. 4. “I’m grateful to all our partners working to help Arizonans excel in their professions and return stronger from COVID-19.”
Ducey’s office is working with several entities on the network, including, but not limited to, Achieve60AZ, the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council and the Boeing Company.
Pima Community College Chancellor Lee Lambert said it's the participating organizations’ mission to help Arizonians acquire the skills and training needed for the new employment landscape.
