Indiana’s $50 million allotment from the CARES Act made it possible for the Hoosier State to tackle unemployment.

With the funds, the Rapid Recovery for a Better Future initiative was born.

“The goal…is to streamline access to resources, help Hoosiers identify and pursue a path forward, and reach people through trusted and local outreach networks,” Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education Teresa Lubbers told Inside Indiana Business.

Gov. Eric Holcomb said with online resources such as the website YourNextStepIn.org, Indianans can easily gain employment, according to Inside Indiana Business.

Indiana can also use the funds for training an additional 10,000 residents through its Workforce Ready Grant program.

“Taking the next step toward a better future is a manageable way for people to move toward economic and workforce recovery, whether that is reskilling for a different job, finishing a credential or finding a new career,” Lubbers told Inside Indiana Business.
