Members of the military who have been displaced or are relocating have the support of Remington Hotels.

The company includes 87 properties across the country and they are opening their doors to military personnel, offering accommodation and special rates for Navy personnel and other members of the Department of Defense.

Properties with special rates for military personnel include these brands: Hilton, Marriott, Westin, Embassy Suites, Sheraton and Hyatt- branded hotels, as well as other independent hotels. There are locations in multiple states that are offering special rates and accommodations for displaced military personnel at this time.

These include: Alaska (1), Arizona (3), California (14), Washington D.C. (2), Florida (11), Georgia (7), Indiana (5), Kansas (1), Kentucky (1), Louisiana (1), Massachusetts (2), Maryland (3), Minnesota (2), North Carolina (1), Nebraska (1), New Jersey (3), New Mexico (2), Nevada (1),  New York (3), Ohio (1), Oklahoma (1), Pennsylvania (5), Tennessee (1), Texas (11), and Virginia (3).

Rates vary by location but may start as low as $79, and some properties have discounted rates for specific blocks of time. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh-Southpointe offers rooms at $89 per night up to 29 days and $79 per night for blocks greater than 30 days.

Military personnel have played a major role in the nation’s COVID-19 response, assisting states and communities as they help to move supplies where needed, set up field hospitals in arenas and provided beds for patients aboard the USNS Mercy in Los Angeles.

This has required military personnel to move quickly, whether relocating for an extended period or a short stay, for COVID-19 response or typical military movement.

Hotel owners and operators have beefed up cleaning procedures, including work with an industrial hygienist to develop a COVID-19 mitigation program, converting how food and drinks are delivered, and updating staff training and procedures that now include mandated handwashing, wearing gloves and masks, and temperature checks for all staff.
