Cochise County issued the following announcement on Aug. 6.
Early voting in the Primary Election has begun and Cochise County is offering its citizens more ways to participate this year.
Voters who have requested an Early Ballot - nearly 60 percent of Cochise County voters opt to vote early - should start receiving them in the mail this week, while those who have not yet asked for one have until August 17 to do so. The Primary Election is on August 28.
Here are key points voters should be aware of:
- Vote your ballot, sign the envelope and mail it back to the Recorder’s Office in the envelope provided. Sign It, Seal It, Send It.
- Visit the Recorder’s Office, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until August 24 and vote in-person, or drop off your voted ballot.
- Visit the Recorder’s Office on Saturday, August 11, and Saturday, August 18, to vote between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday voting is being offered for the first time to provide additional convenience for county registered voters.
- Early voters can drop off their voted ballot – don’t forget to sign the envelope – at one of the five County service centers. Secure drop boxes are located at:
- Bisbee - Recorder’s Office, 1415 Melody Lane, Building B
- Benson - 126 W. 5th Street
- Douglas - 1012 N. G Avenue
- Sierra Vista – 4115 Foothills Drive
- Willcox – 450 S. Haskell Avenue
- Early ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on election night. If you mail your ballot, allow plenty of time for the mail to be in Phoenix and returned to Bisbee.
- Visit ANY of the County’s 17 vote centers on August 28 (Election Day) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and vote in-person or drop off your Early Ballot. For a list of vote centers visit: https://www.cochise.az.gov/sites/default/files/elections/2018VoteCenterLocations.pdf
