The City of Tucson is accepting proposals through April 16 for job training and education programs for at-risk youth and adults as well as bids to host several arts, cultural heritage and sports-related special events.

The requested proposals include an Economic & Workforce Development Grant proposal and a Special Events Grant proposal.

The service areas for the Economic & Workforce Development Grant include small business support and development, job training and educational programs for at-risk youths and adults, and long-term job training for adults.

Service areas for the Special Events Grant include special events that focus on arts, cultural heritage and sports. According to the city, the Special Events Grant is designed to increase events that help build the Tucson community, contribute to the local economy and the city's tourism industry, and enrich resident's and visitor's quality of life.

Requirements to apply for one of the city's grants include being a nonprofit, complying with the city's non-discrimination policy, showing additional funding support, and having no past-due balances with the city for previous events.
