The Cochise County Superior Court recently held a public swearing-in ceremony for several new court officers who will serve in the areas of juvenile detention, juvenile probation/surveillance and adult probation/surveillance.

The officers included juvenile detention officers Robert Archer, Ramon Aguilar and Lester Ackerman; juvenile probation/surveillance officers Cheryl Brown-Aguilar, Itzel Chavez-Ramos and DeAnna Cooke; and adult probation/surveillance officers Daila Alspaugh, Laurel Murphy, Ricardo Rojas, Jason Sanez and April Scriven.

“I’ve worked locally for the last 20 years in a restaurant and about six years ago my daughter had leukemia,” Murphy said in a press release. “The community here was so supportive, so I wanted to do something to help protect and take care of it.”

“I’ve always had an interest in law enforcement,” new adult probation officer Jason Sanez said in a statement. “I wanted to change people and change lives.”

The new Cochise County court officers were sworn in by Division V Superior Court Judge James Conlogue.

“This is very important to us as we swear in 10 people as officers of the court," Conlogue said during the ceremony. "What strikes me is the quality of the people we have working for the court and it’s a good feeling to know that we have that kind of quality here. I pledge my support to you.”
