The City of Buckeye has received statewide recognition with three major award wins for its planning and graphic design efforts.
Buckeye received the Master Plan/Study award, the Best Volunteer Appreciation and VIP Gift award as well as the Best Merchandise for Sale at the recent Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association’s annual AzTec Awards.
The city’s “Buckeye’s Reclaim the River; Enliven the Banks El Rio District Area Plan" received an award in the Master Plan/Study category. The plan is designed to restore and preserve the natural habitat areas along the city’s Gila River. The plan is also designed to create recreational opportunities which preserve the environment and to support land uses along the North bank of the river.
The Buckeye Communication Department received gold and silver awards in the Event Concepts competition for its graphics designs. The department took first place for Best Volunteer Appreciation and VP Gift for its Buckeye Marathon “swag bag” and event T-shirt design. The department also took second place in the Best Merchandise for Sale for its Demolition Derby event T-Shirt design.
Each year, the American Planning Association recognizes state festival and event production and promotions with its AzTech awards and annual conference.
