Salt River Project (SRP) recognized 15 Valley businesses for their conservation efforts during its recent Champions of Energy Efficiency Awards Luncheon, marking the fourth year it has honored local companies for their energy-saving commitments.

SRP honored businesses that are participants in its commercial energy-efficiency rebate and ENERGY STAR Homes program. Honorees include the City of Mesa; PetSmart; Ace Vending; Wells Fargo; Circle K; Littleton Elementary School District; U-Haul; Dave’s Ace Hardware; Torah Day School of Phoenix; David Weekly Homes; CalAtlantic Homes; Elliot Homes; Liberty Wildlife Association; Indian Springs Apartments; and Graham Packaging.

“SRP is committed and honored to help businesses become more energy efficient by providing rebates for thousands of projects that our customers submit,” SRP director of market research and customer programs Dan Dreiling said in a press release. “This special event honors our top commercial energy savers for their ongoing commitment to energy efficiency. Being named an SRP Champion of Energy Efficiency is a significant achievement. These companies serve as excellent examples for other businesses to follow.”

According to SRP, its energy-efficiency programs have led to over 570 million kilowatt-hours of savings for residential and corporate customers which equals powering approximately 30,000 Valley homes in a year.
