The Tucson City Domestic Violence Court was recently named as a Domestic Violence Mentor Court by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women, receiving a two-year grant to fund mentoring activities and programs.
As part of the mentoring program, Judge Wendy Million and the Domestic Violence Court team will host visits from other jurisdictions that are looking to establish domestic violence courts. They will also travel to other jurisdictions to give on-site technical assistance and share forms, procedures and protocols from their own court.
They will also participate in judicial forums and roundtable meetings as they collaborate with partners that include the Center for Court Innovation and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
