The city of Scottsdale will kick off a free lecture series on green building next month that will feature leaders in the areas of energy efficiency and green building.
The green building lecture series will feature a panel of experts in the industry who will discuss the economic value of such building, according to an announcement
The industry experts will discuss topics such as energy efficient construction, energy codes, audits and the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index. In addition, the panel will educate participants on getting more value for home appraisals, how to market and sell homes with energy-efficient features, retrofitting homes with energy-efficient features and adding green features to a mortgage.
Panelists for the upcoming lecture series will include Matthew Thorne with Prime Lending, Daran Wastchak from DR Wastchak Energy Efficiency Services and Jan Green, EcoBroker with HomeSmart Elite Group.
The first session in the lecture series will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
The series will continue on Dec. 7 with “Solar Energy & Storage Battery Systems” and on Feb. 1 with “Living an Edible Landscape Life.” On April 5, the series will be “Building with Earth & Mass in the Dessert” and the final lecture will be June 7 with a discussion on heating and cooling with ductless mini-splits.
