Buckeye's Before and After School Enrichment (B.A.S.E.) program is open for students in kindergarten through grade 8 to provide a safe, engaging place for kids to learn through play.
The program is offered at four elementary schools before and after school daily and provides a creative curriculum to stimulate self-confidence, expression, social skills and cognitive development, as well as physical activity. Hours are from 6 a.m. until school starting time and from school closing time until 6:30 p.m. For this school year, B.A.S.E. operates through May 17.
B.A.S.E. is licensed by the state of Arizona and overseen by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Additionally, parents can use the program on early release days, although sites are closed on holidays or other days when public schools are not open.
Walk-in registration is available at the Dr. Saide Recreation Center at 1003 E. Eason Ave. in Buckeye from Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. For fees, exact locations and more information residents can contact 623-349-6350 or recreation@buckeyeaz.gov.
