The Mesa United Way, with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Mesa Community College, on Aug. 2 hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the Mesa Veterans Resource Center.

The center, at 165 N. Centennial Way, Suite 101 in Mesa, has been established as a training and meeting place for veterans, offering transportation and presenting workshops, according to a press release.

The Mesa Chamber of Commerce has been helping veterans through the Mesa Veterans Program and working to create the resource center.

Mesa United Way has also aided veterans with the Bridge to Employment program, which gives veterans the training and resources needed to access jobs.

The new resource center is on the first floor of Mesa Community College.
