Gov. Doug Ducey has tapped Glendale’s Convention and Visitors Bureau administrator Lorraine Zomok to serve another term on the state’s Tourism Advisory Council.

Zomok will serve a five-year term on the 15-member council, making this her third appointment. As a member of the Tourism Advisory Council, she will represent Maricopa County.

Zomak, who officially began her third appointment during the Governor’s Conference on Tourism, has worked for the city of Glendale for 17 years since the inception of the Glendale Visitor Center, according to an announcement.

The council’s members make up a cross section of representatives from the recreational, tourist attractions, lodging, restaurant, food and transportation industries, as well members of the general public. The council is tasked with assisting and advising the Arizona Office of Tourism agency director in preparing the budget and in helping to establish programs and policies which promote and develop the state’s tourism, the announcement said.
