Tucson Electric Power (TEP) will host back-to-school events, including games.
Employees will host two expos in which students can play Plinko and win fidget spinners and other prizes, according to a press release. They will also give away LEDs and free backpacks for children.
“For some, going back to school means a real stretch on the family budget,” Katie Ferencik, TEP’s community relations coordinator said in a press release. “Through these events, we can help ease the burden on families and ensure that children arrive to their classes worrying about only one thing: learning.”
The first event will be held July 29 at the Tucson Convention Center with a goal of giving away backpacks and school supplies to 2,000 children.
The second event will be Aug. 5 at the El Rio Community Center. From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be free immunizations, eye screenings and dental checkups at the center. Free backpacks and shoe vouchers will be given to the first 200 children.
