Gov. Doug Ducey spoke on development and border management recently at the Border Trade Alliance’s fourth annual Building a Competitive U.S.-Mexico Border conference in Washington, D.C.

Ducey presented a luncheon keynote address on strengthening the Arizona-Mexico relationship, with former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Jim Jones moderating.

“Mexico is Arizona’s number one trading partner times four,” Ducey said in a press release. “Our state has seen some major jobs announcements as a result of this economic activity, with countless employers pointing to the strong relationship we have with Mexico as a reason for choosing Arizona. My goal is to build upon that success and create new jobs for the people of our state.”

Ducey said Arizona’s geographical location affords it unique economic possibilities.

“I look forward to sharing how our relationship with Mexico has resulted in greater prosperity and greater security for Arizonans,” he said.
