With the onset of monsoon season June 15, Arizona residents know how to prepare for this especially challenging time of year for weather.

In addition to heavy rains, high winds and a great deal of dust being circulated throughout the air, flash floods are common during monsoon season, according to a press release.

Engineers in Marana and the northern Pima County are beginning to construct bridges, which will direct Ina Road over the Santa Cruz River to the west of Interstate 10. The engineers' plan is that these bridges will aid residents who will be able to depend on consistent transportation, year-round.

For residents who live near the construction projects and are concerned about the inconvenience due to the project, engineers are estimating a completion in early 2019. The engineers are working tirelessly during the dry months, to ensure that their work can be well on its way as the storms approach.
