Pima County Housing Center to host financial literacy workshops

In response to household debt, which in the U.S. totaled $12.58 trillion in 2016, the Pima County Housing Center will be holding a workshop series aimed at helping consumers with their financial choices.

The event will be at the housing center, 801 W. Congress St. Sessions are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. daily through April 28, with the following schedule for the individual workshops:

April 24: Become a "$uper $aver"

April 25: Budgeting

April 26: Saving and Investing

April 27: Credit Repair and Debt Management

April 28: Roadmap to Home Ownership

In fact, April 2017 has been named Financial Literacy Month by the Pima County Board Supervisors, during which time public and private organizations seek to bring a deeper knowledge to the people about how to be financial literate and how to manage their money.

Community Development Housing Planner Imelda Robles spoke on the importance of money management.

"Change can be difficult, but the payoff can be priceless," Robles said in a press release.
