Anthony Smith, a Pinal County supervisor, promoted the county's upcoming special book sale, junk and jewels class, and AARP Tax-Aide during Monday's meeting of the Grande Valley Republican Women.
The book sale is Saturday at the main library in Casa Grande. The sale highlights the library and proceeds will benefit them and the Friends of the Casa Grande Library.
“The sale includes a large selection of books," a news release said. "Paperback books will sell for 50 cents each or three for $1. Hardback books will be $2 or three for $5.”
For the “Junk & Jewels” class, registrants need register and pay a $35 fee. To do so, please call 518-5309. The class is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at 3 French Hens on 121 W. Florence Blvd., Suite B.
The AARP free tax assistance is from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays through April 14 at Desert Sky Baptist Church, 891 W. Kortsen Road.
