The Arizona Corporation Commission recently acted to eliminate some regulatory relics that it said caused unnecessary rejections, slowed the process and did nothing to benefit customers.
“Many of the statutes were enacted decades ago and do not allow the use of modern technology,” Commission Chairman Tom Forese said.
The changes are aimed at ensuring that all entity types get equal treatment and expanding communication options with corporations and LLCs. They also equalize
filing fees for foreign nonprofits, eliminate some previously required customer information in certain documents, suspend a requirement that corporations that are dissolving voluntarily turn in an annual report, and give the panel the ability to send documents electronically.
The action follows the panel’s December launching of an enhanced corporation annual report online filing option.
