The Arizona Cardinals said they will be one of eight NFL teams that will play games in London next season.
The Cardinals will play the Los Angeles Rams at Twickenham Stadium on Oct. 22 or Oct. 29, with the Rams serving as home team. Ticket availability will be announced at a future date.
Twickenham Stadium opened in 1909 and is home to England Rugby. The Rams played at the venue this season against the Newy York Giants for the first-ever non-rugby event held at the stadium.
“In 2014, I attended the Raiders-Dolphins game at Wembley Stadium and experienced firsthand the incredible enthusiasm U.K. fans have for the NFL,” Cardinals President Michael Bidwill said. “I also encountered a huge number of Cardinals fans asking when our team would be playing there. I know this is great news for them as well as the U.S. members of the Red Sea who couldn’t have a cooler destination to see a road game. We’re looking forward to seeing them all there next fall.”
The Minnesota Vikings will play the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham as well. Two other NFL events will take place in London, both at Wembley Stadium. The games will be the New Orleans Saints versus the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
