The Benedictine University at Mesa has announced the Mesa Partnerships Scholarship to help with tuition costs for newly enrolled full-time traditional undergraduate students beginning in the fall of this year.

The scholarship will pay out $3,000 on an annual basis to employees of the City of Mesa and Mesa Public Schools or their dependents. Graduates of Mesa Public Schools and Mesa Community College who have earned more than 60 credit hours or have an associate's degree are also eligible for the scholarship.

John Giles, mayor of Mesa, publicized the new scholarship during his state of the city address, and Superintendent of Mesa Public Schools Michael Crowan is also throwing his full support behind the partnership with Benedictine. The partnership between the university and the public schools is the result of a collaboration to offer the opportunity for higher education in the greater East Valley.

If the recipients of the scholarship sustain good academic standing, they will be eligible to have the scholarship renewed. It can also be combined to include the Benedictine Heritage and St. Benedict Award scholarships. However, it cannot be awarded in combination with the Catholic High School or Parish Service scholarships.
